Summerland is proving to be a terroir sweet spot for the Malbec variety, with unique wines which stylistically resemble the Cahors region’s Malbecs rather than the Argentinian ones. The 2016 vintage showcases this incredibly well. Exploding aromas of violets and damson plum combined with notes of sea salt, black olives, and black pepper are carried harmoniously onto the palate where light, judicious use of oak serves as a background for this elegant, medium to full body wine.
