2014 Merlot

This old world Bordeaux style Merlot shows restraint with a backbone of acidity. Typical to this style, it is now starting to show its true colours after a few years of bottle aging. Tertiary aromas that have developed through the aging process add to this wine’s aromatic depth and complexity. On the palate, the softening tannins harmoniously integrate with fruit, oak and spice flavours.

2015 Malbec

Summerland is proving to be a terroir sweet spot for the Malbec variety, with unique wines which stylistically resemble the Cahors region’s Malbecs rather than the Argentinian ones.
The 2015 vintage brings forth another proof of this great match of grape and place. Our 2015 Malbec shows nice bottle development, evolving into a complex and elegant wine with good aging capability. The earthy aromas and savoury, spicy flavours are now more accentuated than when young, yet with enough fruit as support. Judicious use of oak serves as a background for this balanced, lengthy wine.

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon

Our 2016 vintage is powerful without being heavy—a mark of a great cabernet sauvignon. A deep sweet & savoury nose of cassis, cherry, dried mint and graphite lead to a concentrated and dense palate of black currant, elderberry, cacao and oak spices that are derived from a mix of french and american oak. This Cab has a lovely long dark chocolate finish. Its ripe and dense tannins combined with plenty of fruit promise this wine will age well.
